Merry Christmas!

Here I will say a few things about religion and spirituality, because it is the time of year for such thoughts, and with the strenghthening of politically correct motives, I must encourage each person to express their individuality and accept the individuality of others.I am not as religious as much as I am spiritual. I appreciate and truly love the teachings of MANY religions. I feel they all have something to offer, and they all hold the same principal of “Do unto others as you would have done unto you” althought they are not all phrased the same way. And by adhering to the “Golden Rule,” we are each obligated to offer a certain amount of tolerance for each others beliefs and practices. The interesting thing about Christmas is that it is a time to celebrate the birth of the son of the God or Gods in many different religions, so call it what you will, we are all basically celebrating the same thing. Isn’t it just nice to have a time of year where everyone celebrates their spirituality and the history of their chosen religions? Wouldn’t it be even nicer if we could all just appreciate that fact and accept the well wishing of others regardless of how that is said, be it Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah, Happy Kwanza, or even Happy Holidays? When will we ever accept the fact that everyone is different, and no one is right – we all possess bits and pieces of the “cosmic right,” but each of our own truths are embedded into our hearts and souls, and no two are the same. Period. This season, practice the Golden Rule, and you can’t go wrong. If you find yourself facing another that is not adhering to that rule, let them know your intentions in a kind and patient way, maybe you can pass the message along through your actions.
